Black Rice Chia Pudding (Dry Mix)

Known as Bubur Ketan Hitam in Indonesia, this breakfast porridge is filled with antioxidants. Our mix includes chia seeds boosting the dish's nutrients. This dish is extremely easy to make and good to store in the fridge to then be warmed up for another luxurious and exotic breakfast the next day. You can swap up the toppings to keep it interesting.

Ingredients (Provided)

A - Black rice, chia seeds, coconut sugar, salt 

Ingredients (You will need) 

1 can full-fat coconut milk
1.5 cups of water 

Mindful modifications 

Swap milk for your choice of plant milk.
Toppings can include fresh fruit, goji berries, hemp seeds.

Preparation and Cooking Instructions

  1. Place all wet and dry ingredients (A) in a medium sized pot. Whisk together until there are no clumps and the chia seeds and rice are evenly distributed. 
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil then cover with a lid and simmer on low heat. 
  3. Simmer until most of the liquid is absorbed and the rice has softened. This will take about an hour. Be sure to mix it every once in a while to prevent it from sticking. 
  4. Enjoy warm with your favourite toppings. Any extras can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and consumed within 3 days.
