Mother to Mila
" ...when it comes to setting boundaries with loved ones - it's ok to say no; cancelling on plans and needing a moment for yourself is totally normal and okay."
A brief description of yourself:
Based in Melbourne, Australia; Mother to Mila, my now almost 10 month old- I am part time lifestyle and travel blogger and full time mum. We have a travel focused life and have done our best to keep that passion alive after having our little one and we love going on adventures with our daughter; and although the idea of travelling with a baby can be a bit intimidating- it’s actually the best and we were pleasantly surprised!
What was your favourite thing about the newborn phase?

The skin to skin cuddles, the most special experience in the world.
What did you find challenging about being a new mother?
For me I found the recovery to be the most challenging due to having a episitomy, I think this is a topic that needs to become more talked about, I found that before I gave birth I had heard really little about this procedure and that under prepared me for the recovery- education is key.
How were you supported during your postpartum period and what would you change if you could go back in time?
I was lucky to have a supportive husband but, even for the most loving couples it's a big adjustment. Being realistic is important about how life will change; especially when it comes to setting boundaries with loved ones- it's ok to say no; cancelling on plans and needing a moment for yourself is totally normal and okay.

1. disposable underwear (more packets than you think you'll need),
2. lots of easy to access nutrient dense snacks and
3. a food, a well stocked house so you don't have to go to the shops for the first week or so after bub is born.
Are there any rituals or practices during your 4th trimester you'd like to share?
Going for walks and having a little time to myself everyday really helped my headspace in the 4th trimester.
